NCAA grants Bowling Green’s Thomas extra year of eligibility
Bryan Thomas, a defensive end on the football team at Bowling Green and a Washington High School graduate, was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Thomas was granted the extra year because he suffered a season-ending knee injury during his redshirt freshman season in 2011. The NCAA informed Thomas of the decision Friday morning.
Thomas led the Falcons’ defense last season with eight quarterback sacks to go along with 15 tackles for a loss and five forced fumbles. Thomas had two sacks in Bowling Greene’s 33-28 win over South Aalabama in the Camellia Bowl last December.
