Baseball: W&J routs Grove City
Freshman outfielder Ryan Sciullo went 3-for-4 with three RBI Wednesday to propel Washington & Jefferson to a 13-1 victory over Grove City College in a PAC game at Ross Memorial Park.
The Presidents (11-7, 19-10) swept the season series against the Wolverines (7-13, 11-19), who committed five errors and walked six batters. W&J had 13 hits, including multi-hit performances by Sciullo, Canon-McMillan graduate Frank Fortunato, Nelson McKown and Nick Vento.
W&J scored at least three runs in three of the first four innings to take an 11-1 lead. Fortunato went 2-for-4 with two runs, McKown went 3-for-4 with three runs and Vento chipped in two hits.
Nick Kolat was the winning pitcher, throwing six innings and allowing one earned run. The Presidents open a three-game series Friday with a road game against Waynesburg.
