Softball: Vulcans increase lead in PSAC West

California scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to defeat Gannon 6-2 and complete a sweep of a PSAC West Division doubleheader Friday at Lilley Field.

Cal won the opener, 12-2, in five innings.

Lindsay Reicoff’s run-scoring single broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth. Reicoff was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in the nightcap. She homered in the opener.

Shelby Heyds led Cal (26-9, 20-5) to the win in the opener by going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and three runs. Haley Wilson was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs, and Megan Jahoda homered in each game.

Gannon fell to 15-5, 21-10 and 2 1/2 games behind first-place Cal.
