Softball: Carmichaels blanks Waynesburg

Katie Mays and Laura Walker combined for six RBI Saturday to pace Carmichaels to a 12-0 five-inning win over Waynesburg in Section 2-AA.

Mays had a double, triple and drove in three runs and Walker doubled and also had three RBI for the mikes (9-0, 9-2). Erica Burns had a double and Caroline Cree had a double and triple. Burns struck out eight and walked one.

Waynesburg fell to 4-10, including 3-6 in the section.

• Micaela Danley went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBI to power Bentworth to a 16-1 win in three innings over Avella in a non-section game.

Morgan Vickless and Chase Watson each had a double for the Bearcats (7-4, 9-6). Danley struck out four and walked none.
