Sagl strikes out 15; Cal wins 2

Behind a career-high 15 strikeouts by pitcher Alex Sagl in the opening game and a three-run 10th inning, California University swept a PSAC West Division doubleheader at Edinboro Sunday, 7-1 and 4-2.

Cal (22-5, 28-9) extended its winning streak to 11 games.

Sagl allowed just two hits and issued three walks in the opener. Meghan Jahoda hit a three-run homer for Cal.

In the second game, the teams went to the international tiebreaker with the score 1-1 in the 10th. The Vulcans loaded the bases after a walk and hit batsman before Jacquelyn Fowler delivered a two-run single. Following a strikeout, Jahoda added a two-out RBI single to give Cal a 4-1 lead. The Fighting Scots managed an RBI double in the bottom of the inning.
