Wild Things move out of last place
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Scott Kalamar and Danny Poma both homered and the Washington Wild Things pounded out 16 hits in an 8-4 victory at Schaumburg Friday night in a Frontier League game.
Kalamar, who had three hits, and Andy Heck both drove in two runs each, while Austin Wobrock also had three hits for Washington (30-40) who moved percentage points ahead of Lake Erie to get out of last place in the East Division. Lake Erie split a doubleheader with the Frontier Greys Friday night.
The Boomers, who got a home run and double from T.J. Bennett, fall to 29-41.
Luke Wilkins allowed four runs, all earned in 6 1/3 innings for Washington to improve to 6-3. He has won four of his past five decisions.
Evan Boyd took the loss for the Boomers, allowing a pair of earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief.
