Roethlisberger expected to play; Miller is questionable
PITTSBURGH – Ben Roethlisberger made it through a full week of practice and is listed as probable to play for the Steelers Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Steelers’ quarterback suffered a concussion late in a 39-30 loss Sunday at Seattle when he was struck in the head by Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett.
Roethlisberger stayed in the game and finished a field-goal drive that cut Seattle’s lead to 32-30, but went to team doctors complaining of impaired peripheral vision. He did not return to the game.
Roethlisberger was cleared Wednesday and made it through full practices without issue. He passed for 522 yards and six touchdowns in a 51-34 Steelers win over Indianpolis last season.
The same can not be said about tight end Heath Miller, who is listed as questionable with a rib injury that forced him to leave the Seattle game in the second quarter. Miller did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and was limited Friday. Miller has not missed a game since 2013.
Linebacker Sean Spence (hamstring) is the only player listed as out for the Steelers.
Things are a little more serious for Indianapolis (6-5). The Colts could be without three starting offensive linemen as left tackle Anthony Costonzo (knee) and guard Hugh Thornton (elbow) are out, and center Khaled Holmes (fibula) is questionable.
