Brown’s 24 points send Fort Cherry to win

Devon Brown scored a game-high 24 points and Fort Cherry held off a late rally to defeat Quigley Catholic, 61-55, in a non-section game.

Rob McAnany added 17 points for the Rangers, who led by 13 points at halftime and overcome 11 missed free throws.

Kyle Gardwell led the Spartans (1-2) with 20 points.

Bentworth 63, Mapletown 34: Steve Herner led four scorers in double figures with 16 points as Bentworth picked up its first win of the season with a 63-34 non-section win over Mapletown.

Nick Silver added 12 points and Ray Logan and Jacob Davis had 10 each for the Bearcats (1-1), who jumped out to a 21-7 lead after one quarter.

Dustin Lemley led Mapletown (0-3) with 12 points.
