Boys basketball: Sharp-shooting CV sinks Canon-McMillan

Chartiers Valley made 14 three-pointers and all nine of its free-throw attempts Monday night as the Colts held off host Canon-McMillan, 77-63, in a Section 4-AAAA game.
The Colts’ entire starting five scored in double figures. Eddie Flohr had a game-high 17 points, and Caleb Zavicek and Joey Antonucci both chipped in 15 for Chartiers Valley (2-0, 4-1), which lead 40-27 at halftime. RJ Bell and Carson Miller both had 13 points for the Big Macs (0-2, 3-2).
Chartiers-Houston 72, Waynesburg 58: AJ Myers and Cameron Hanley combined for 55 points as Chartiers-Houston defeated Waynesburg, 72-58, in a non-section game.
Myers had a game-high 29 points, including three three-pointers, and Hanley had 26 for the Bucs (3-2), who led by just three points at halftime before outscoring the Raiders, 24-6, in the third quarter. Waynesburg (2-3) made nine three-point field goals and was led by Mitch Warman, who had 23 points. Brandon Turcheck added 11 points and Robbie Miller had 10.
In other games: Brownsville defeated visiting West Greene, 79-29, in a non-section game. No details were made available to the Observer-Reporter.
