Big Macs boys fall in tourney

Obama Academy rallied from a five-point deficit at halftime with a strong second-half surge and took a 53-48 victory from Canon-McMillan in the PBC Holiday Festival at Aliquippa.
Dana Struthers scored 17 points for Obama Academy, which had a 14-8 advantage over C-M in the third quarter and 18-14 in the fourth quarter. Nasir Tatum chipped in 12 points.
Canon-McMillan, which fell to 3-4, was paced by R.J. Bell, who scored 13 points, and Carson Miller, who added 12. The Big Macs led 26-21 at halftime, thanks to a 15-7 run in the second quarter.
Peters Township 74, North Allegheny 64: Ben Doyle scored 24 points and Peters Township had a pair of 23-point quarters on the way to a 74-64 victory over North Allegheny in a non-section game.
Kelson Marisa tossed in 13 points and Clayton Yeates added 10 points for the Indians (6-1).
Curtis Aiken scored 24 for NA (4-2) and Keegan Phillips contributed 20.
Girls results
Jeannette 42, Monessen 32: Chloe Stein and Cimani Lee combined for 29 points and Jeannette used a strong run over the final three quarters to take a 42-32 win from Monessen in a nonconference game.
Stein led all scorers with 17 points and Lee chipped in 12 as the Jayhawks moved to 5-2 on the season. The game was tied 4-4 after one quarter but Jeannette outscored the Greyhounds, 15-9, in the second, 11-10, in the third and 12-9 in the fourth.
Lashaundria Gillaspie had a double-double for Monessen (1-5) with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
