Girls basketball: Ringgold comes all the way back, beats Connellsville

Natalie Adams’ jump shot with one minute remaining Sunday gave Ringgold its first lead and sent the Rams to a 42-39 victory over Connellsville in a girls basketball game at the California University Hoopfest.
The win was the fourth in five games for Ringgold (6-4) and extended Connellsville’s losing streak to four. The Falcons are 3-8.
Connellsville led 14-7 after one quarter but Ringgold chipped away at the deficit. The Rams closed to within 22-19 at halftime and 32-30 after three quarters.
Bailey Cooper led a balanced scoring attack for Ringgold with 13 points. Adams finished with nine points, and Ashley Briscoe contributed six points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Abby Davis led Connellsville with 13 points. The Falcons made only 13 of 24 free throws.
Bishop Canevin 40, Canon-McMillan 34: Bishop Canevin scored the final six points of the game and defeated Canon-McMillan 40-34 in the California University Hoopfest.
Canon-McMillan (6-4) endured a bad second quarter in which it was outscored 17-6 and fell behind 27-15 at halftime. The Big Macs battled back and closed to within 31-26 after three quarters. Canon-McMillan, which held Bishop Canevin to only 13 points in the second half, took a 35-34 lead before the final surge and the win went to the Crusaders (9-1). Bishop Canevin has won nine in a row.
Cheynne Trest topped C-M in scoring with 11 points. Izzy Allen followed with 10 points.
Sophomore Kasey Kaczorowski led Bishop Canevin with 11 points.
