Men’s basketball: Waynesburg falls to Ursinus

Eric Williams came off the bench to score 15 points on five three-pointers as Ursinus pulled away from Waynesburg in the second half for a 69-57 win over Waynesburg in a consolation game of the Holiday Inn College Park Classic in Washington, D.C.
B.J. Durham scored 12 for his team-high 18 points in the first half for Waynesburg (1-8) to help the Yellow Jackets to a 32-32 tie.
But Ursinis (2-6) connected on 14 of 25 shots in the second half and pulled away for the victory.
Matt Knowles added 15 points, while Remi Janicot had 15 rebounds and Joe LoStracco 10 for Ursinus, which held a 46-35 rebounding advantage.
D.J. Ritchie had 11 points for Waynesburg, while Nate Labishak had nine rebounds.
Illinois College 80, Washington & Jefferson 69: Illinois College shot 51 percent from the field to build a 14-point halftime lead and held on to defeate Washington & Jefferson, 80-69, in the consolation game of the Bluffton McDonald’s Holiday Tournament in Bluffton, Ohio.
Tim Schappaugh had 20 points for the Blue Boys (4-6), who scored 24 points off 16 turnovers and made 25 of 29 free throws. Cody Hildebrand added 17 and Mitchell Patterson 15. The Presidents (0-10) shot just 31 percent from the field in the first half, which led to a 46-32 deficit at halftime Gianni Buarne led the Presidents with a career- high 22 points, including six three-pointers, while Brian Graytok and Christian Rohaus both chipped in 17.
Illinois College led by as many as 18 points in the second half.
