Matt McConnell led the WPIAL in scoring this season with a 30-point average and now has his Chartiers Valley boys’ basketball team poised to make a run at the Quad-A title. The Colts earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will play Butler (14-8) in the first round of the playoffs at noon Feb. 14 at North Allegheny.

Dimitri Pihiou of Canon-McMillan tries to escape the grasp of Gabe Falo of North Allegheny during the 113-pound bout Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the WPIAL Class AAA Team Tournament. Pihou won a 7-2 decision.
