1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi hired Florida International defensive coordinator Josh Conklin to the same position with the Panthers.

Conklin was a finalist for the Broyles Award this season, given to the top assistant coach in college football. Conklin helped FIU finish 35th in the country in total defense in 2014.

Andre Powell will join Pitt as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator. Powell spent the last four years at Maryland. Dave Andrews, a former Ohio State tight end, will serve as Pitt’s strength and conditioning coach. Andrews was on staff at Notre Dame before coming to the Panthers.

Ben Matthews, who worked with Narduzzi at Michigan State, will serve as the director of football operations.
