Jones paces Richmond past Duquesne 86-55

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — ShawnDre’ Jones hit four 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lead Richmond to an 86-55 win over Duquesne on Wednesday night.

Kendall Anthony had 16 points and Terry Allen added 11 for Richmond (11-9, 4-3 Atlantic 10). The Spiders made 30 of 56 (53.6 percent) shots from the field, including 13 of 30 (43.3 percent) from 3-point range, and converted 92.9 percent from the free throw line.

Derrick Colter had nine points and four assists, and Eric James and L.G. Gill pitched in eight points apiece for Duquesne (6-13, 1-7), which dropped its sixth straight game.

The Spiders began the game on a 20-5 spurt. Jones scored 10 straight for Richmond, including back-to-back 3-pointers, and finished with 18 points at the half.

Richmond stretched its lead to as many as 33 in the second half.
