Rebellion lose early lead, game

AKRON, Ohio – Sarah Pauly defeated her old team Friday night, and the Akron Racers erased an early deficit to down the Pennsylvania Rebellion, 6-3, Friday.

The Rebellion scored three runs in the first inning against Pauly, a pitcher who was traded to Akron in the offseason. Two runs came via errors and Cheyenne Cordes knocked in the other.

Akron answered with four in the bottom of the second and added runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Cassie Tsarczyk drove in two runs for the Racers and Taylor Schlopy, Jill Barrett and Ashley Thomas each had one.

Dagmar Bloeming took the loss.

The two teams will meet in the third of a four-game series tonight. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
