Robert Morris defeats Bryant in NEC semis

MOON TOWNSHIP – Kavon Stewart scored 19 points, Rodney Pryor added 12, and No. 2 seed Robert Morris rallied to beat third-seeded Bryant 66-53 Saturday to advance to the finals of the Northeast Conference tournament.

The Colonials (18-14) will face top-seeded Saint Francis (NY), which beat fifth-seeded Saint Francis (Pa) 62-48 Saturday.

Lucky Jones scored 11 for Robert Morris, which never trailed in the first half.

The Colonials opened with a 14-3 lead and Stewart scored eight straight points late in the half to produce a 30-25 halftime lead.

Bryant rallied to tie it at 35 on a 3 by Dyami Starks, then led 43-40 on a jumper by Bosko Kostur. But Robert Morris ripped a 19-5 run and led 61-51 on a layup by Elijah Minnie with 3:15 left, then finished on a 7-2 run.

Starks led Bryant (16-15) with 19 points, making 5 of 11 3-pointers, and Kostur added 10 points.
