Fordham hires former WVU assistant as head coach

1 min read

NEW YORK (AP) – Jeff Neubauer, who took Eastern Kentucky to two NCAA tournaments in 10 seasons, is the men’s basketball coach at Fordham.

The school will hold a news conference Tuesday to introduce Neubauer.

He led the Colonels to a 188-134 record, and they played in the NCAA Tournament in 2007 and 2014. Eastern Kentucky finished 21-12 last season and lost in the quarterfinals of the CIT.

Before going to Eastern Kentucky, Neubauer was an assistant to John Beilein at West Virginia for five seasons.

Neubauer replaces Tom Pecora, who was fired this month after five seasons. He compiled a 44-106 record, including 10-21 this season.
