Things take Flight in 1st road win
NORMAL, Ill. – Tim Flight pitched six strong innings to pick up his first win of the season as Washington defeated Normal, 3-2, Sunday in a Frontier League baseball game.
Flight scattered six hits and struck out seven, allowing just two runs for the Wild Things (2-7), who won their first road game of the season.
Austin Wobrock, who entered the game without a hit in 19 at bats to start the season, had three hits for Washington, while John Fidanza and Sam Mende had two each.
Matt Purnell picked up the save for Washington, which is off today before returning to action Tuesday at River City.
Victor Beriguete took the loss in relief for Normal (5-4).
