Clairton bears down on Carmichaels

CLAIRTON – Harrison Dreher scored three times, including on a punt return during a 38-point first quarter, as top-seeded Clairton defeated Carmichaels, 70-6, in the opening round of the WPIAL Class A playoffs Friday night.

Lamont Wade added 111 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just eight carries for Clairton (10-0), which has now scored 70 or more points four times this season.

Aaron Matthews completed 5 of 8 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns for the Bears, who led 62-0 at the half.

Shawn Dulaney broke up the shutout in the fourth quarter for the Mikes (5-5), scoring on a 4-yard run.
