Sophomore forward Seairra Barrett scored a career-high 23 points and California defeated Bloomsburg, 80-65, Sunday afternoon at the Convocation Center in a rematch of last year’s NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional women’s basketball championship game.

Barrett made nine of 12 shots from the field, grabbed nine rebounds and also contributed three assists as California improved its record to 3-0 in the PSAC and 4-1 overall. The loss was the first for Bloomsburg (1-1, 3-1).

Cal used only six players but four of them scored in double figures. Point guard Miki Glenn had 16 points and seven assists, Precious Martin set her career high with 16 points and Paige Wright had 11.

The Vulcans forced 22 turnovers and closed the first half on a 9-0 run for a 42-32 lead. Cal, which shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, pushed the lead into double digits with an 11-4 run during the third quarter and used a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to forge a 75-57 advantage.

Mia Hopkins registered a double-double for Bloomsburg with 16 points and a team-leading 13 rebounds. Morgan Klunk also tallied 16 points for the Huskies.
