MAPLETOWN – Sophomore tailback Dylan Rush ran for 387 yards and eight touchdowns – both school records – as Mapletown scored 51 first-half points Friday night and cruised to a 58-24 victory over visiting Avella in a Tri-County South Conference game.

Rush, who set Mapletown’s single-game touchdown and points records two weeks ago in a win at West Greene, broke both against Avella (0-5, 0-5). Rush scored on runs of 67, 23, 17, 6, 15, 18 and 88 yards in the first half as the Maples (2-3, 2-3) forged a 51-16 lead.

Rush added a 28-yard run in the third quarter, kicked four extra points and scored on a two-point conversion run to account for 54 of Mapletown’s 58 points.

Luke Lloyd scored on an eight-yard run and threw a 35-yard TD pass to Taylor Fraysier for Avella. Dalton Simonelli also scored on a touchdown run. Lloyd caught four passes for 65 yards.
