Avella shuts out Wilkinsburg for first win of season

Dalton Simonelli threw a pair of touchdown passes as Avella defeated Wilkinsburg, 12-0, in a Tri-County South game for the Eagles’ first win of the season.

Simonelli threw for 141 yards and completed TD passes to Tyler Fraysier and Steve Miller for the Eagles (0-5, 1-6).

Owen English had a pair of first-half interceptions for the Eagles, who forced four turnovers in the game, while Milled rushed for 66 yards on 14 carries.

Wilkinsburg falls to 0-6 overall.
