Fast start carries Penn Hills past Peters Township

PENN HILLS – Penn Hills forged a 17-point first-quarter lead, returned an interception for a touchdown and had a 90-yard scoring pass as the Indians defeated Peters Township, 38-12, Friday night in the Southeastern Conference.

Penn Hills (3-2, 3-3) led 17-0 after one quarter, which included Darrell Holloway’s 44-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Alan Snyder caught a 25-yard TD pass from Clayton Yeates in the second quarter to pull Peters Township (1-4, 1-5) to within 17-6, but Penn Hills scored the game’s next three touchdowns, including a 90-yard pass from Cameron Tarrant to Julian Major.

Yeates capped the scoring with his second TD pass, a 19-yarder to Jake Cortes.
