Steelers list Roethlisberger as questionable
PITTSBURGH – The Steelers wrapped up their practices Friday for Sunday’s game at Kansas City and are still leaving the Chiefs guessing as to who will line up under center.
Ben Roethlisberger, out the past three weeks with a sprained MCL and bone bruise, is officially listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week.
That would seem to point to third-year quarterback Landry Jones making his first career start with Mike Vick, who started the last three games, out with a hamstring injury.
“We are full speed ahead with Landry until told otherwise,” said Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
The Steelers (4-2) are 2-1 without Roethlisberger in the lineup but obviously want to keep the Chiefs (1-5) guessing as to who their quarterback will be.
In addition to Vick, free safety Will Allen (ankle) and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (knee) were declared out Friday by the Steelers.
The Steelers are expected to get linebackers Jarvis Jones and Ryan Shazier back this week. Jones sat out last week’s win over Arizona with a hip issue, while Shazier has missed the past four games with a shoulder injury. Both are listed as probable.
For Kansas City, starting defensive end Mike DeVito (concussion) is out, as is linebacker Ramik Wilson (knee/ankle). Leading receiver Jeremy Maclin (concussion) returned to practice on a limited basis Friday and is questionable, as is outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee), who was limited Thursday but did not practice Wednesday or Friday this week.
