Wild Things complete trade
The Wild Things have acquired infielder Ricky Rodriguez from the Amarillo ThunderHeads of the American Association to complete an earlier trade between the teams.
Washington sent pitcher Richie Mirowski to Amarillo in July in exchange for a player to be named. Mirowski was 0-3 with one save and 4.76 ERA in 19 appearances with Washington.
Rodriguez (6-0, 215) was a rookie last season with Amarillo and batted .258 in 17 games with one home runs and four RBI. Rodriguez signed with Amarillo after playing last spring at Florida Tech, where he batted .360 with seven home runs. As a college junior in 2014, Rodriguez was an NAIA honorable mention All-American at Sterling (Kan.), where he batted .441 with 20 doubles and eight home runs.
Rodriguez played four games at first base, six in left field and four in right field for Amarillo.
