Greensburg CC spoils debut of Salvino

MONESSEN – Alvin Ross had 23 carries for 202 yards and a touchdown and also threw a touchdown pass as Greensburg Central Catholic spoiled Joe Salvino’s debut as the football coach at Monessen with a 21-0 Eastern Conference win over the Greyhounds Friday night.

Jake Weir caught two touchdown passes, one from Ross, for GCC (1-0, 1-0).

Lavelle Rush had 65 yards rushing on four carries for Monessen (0-1, 0-1), which was playing its first game under Salvino, who also is the school’s basketball coach.
