T-Bolts rally late, beat Wild Things

Windy City scored five runs over the final two innings to rally for a 9-6 victory over the Wild Things Friday night at Consol Energy Park.
Washington led 6-4 when Max White’s two-run homer off relief pitcher Steve Messner (2-4) trigged the ThunderBolts’ three-run eighth inning. Alex Chittenden followed White’s game-tying homer with a single to give Windy City the lead.
The ThunderBolts added two more runs in the ninth when White, a former standout at the University of Oaklahoma, hit his second homer in as many innings.
Washington forged leads of 3-0 and 5-1. Catcher Maxx Garrett hit his fifth home run of the season for Washington and David Popkins drove in two runs.
Pete Whittingslow (2-0) the second of four Windy City pitchers, was the winner. Tommy Nance got the final three outs for his fourth save.
