Girls soccer: Urbine’s hat trick sends Beth-Center to win over Monesen
Sydney Urbine scored three goals and added an assist to lead Beth-Center to a 6-0 win over Monessen in a Section 2-A match.
Hannah Lacey scored twice and had two assists for the Bearcats (1-2, 1-2). Lilley Beadling cored a goal and Allison Ankney had five saves.
• South Allegheny defeated Bentworth 5-0 in a Section 2-A. The Bearcats fell to 2-4, 2-2 in the section. South Allegheny is 3-0-1, 2-0-1 in the section.
• Waynesburg sophomore striker Madison Clayton scored two goals to help the Raiders defeat McGuffey, 3-0, in a Section 4-AA match.
Evelyn White also scored for Waynesburg (4-0, 5-0) and Josey Evans recorded four saves to earn the shutout. The Highlanders (0-3, 1-4-1) have lost three consecutive matches.
• Julia Chakos scored two goals as Trinity defeated Uniontown, 5-4, in a non-section match.
Chakos’ goal off a cross with 10 minutes remaining sealed the win for the Hillers (2-4). Jenna Becker, Lauren Briggs and Saulina Wells also scored for Trinity.
Uniontown (1-5) overcame a two-goal deficit in the second half.
• Brenna McGuire scored four goals to power South Fayette to an 8-0 win over East Allegheny in a Section 5-AA match.
Emily Maloney, Mataya Mikesell, Izzy Nanni and Brianna Rees each had a goal for the Lions (3-0, 4-1). Natalie Caraway had the shutout. East Allegheny fell to 0-4 and 0-4.
• Megan Virgin turned away 11 shots to help Canon-McMillan secure a 2-0 victory over Chartiers Valley in a Section 4-AAA match.
Allison Thomas scored two minute before halftime and Cheyenne Trest with seven minutes to go for the Big Macs (3-0, 5-0). CV fell to 3-2 and 2-1.
• Kyra Watkins and Adrianna Gottheld each had a hat trick to send Charleroi to a 9-0 victory over Chartiers-Houston in a Section 2-A match.
Sydney Toth stopped seven shots for the Cougars (3-1, 4-1-1). Shayla Watkins had two goals and Baylee Musser one. Megan Sterner had two assists.
The Bucs fell to 2-4, including 2-2 in the section.
