Beth-Center scores 57 in 1st half, cruises to win

FREDERICKTOWN – A 57-point first half for Beth-Center led to a 64-16 victory over California Friday night in a Tri-County South Conference game.

Tony Welsh led the way for the Bulldogs (2-0, 2-1) with five touchdowns. Welsh had scoring runs of 2, 10 and 3 yards. He also had 75- and 35-yard punt return TDs.

B-C’s Dominic Fundy ran for two TDs of 22 and 20 yards.

California (1-2, 1-1) had a 58-yard pass from freshman quarterback Austin Grillo to KC Zajicek, and a 87-yard kickoff return by Tyler Rothfuis.
