Derry keeps Charleroi winless

CHARLEROI – Tyler Balega ran for 97 yards on 27 carries to lead Derry over Charleroi 29-15 in Class AA Interstate Conference play.

Balega had TD runs of 2 and 13 yards, and caught a 10-yard scoring pass for Derry (1-2, 1-2). Quarterback Sonny Stevens threw for touchdowns of 10 and 15 yards.

Brock Shannon ran 21 times for 94 yards and a score for the Cougars (0-3, 0-3). Charleroi also scored on a safety and a 65-yard kickoff return by Trey Douyon.
