1 min read

Tony Steadman blocked a pair of punts, both of which were recovered in the end zone for touchdowns, and Trinity gave new head coach Jon Miller his first win by routing host Elizabeth Forward 49-7 in a Big 10 Conference game Friday night.

Tanner Hudak recovered Steadman’s first blocked punt for the Hillers’ first score, and Steadman scooped and scored on the second one in the second quarter as Trinity (1-2, 1-2) built a 35-0 halftime lead.

The Hillers, who forced four turnovers, also got a 15-yard fumble return for a score by Austin Young in the first half, and had TD runs from Garrett Briant and Dajour Hull, the latter rushing for 80 yards on 11 carries.

Josh Durig and Jarred Rice scored TD runs in the second half for Trinity.

Connor Hinchey, who had 82 rushing yards on 16 carries, scored the lone touchdown for Elizabeth Forward (1-2, 1-2).
