Girls soccer: Canon-Mac rallies, remains unbeaten
Canon-McMillan scored two goals in the final seven minutes to complete a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over host Moon in a Section 4-AAA match Monday night.
Aideen O’Donoghue’s second goal of the match tied it 2-2 and Cheyenne Trest put the Big Macs (5-0, 7-0) ahead for good. O’Donoghue scored five mintues into the match before Moon (3-2, 4-2) answered with two unanswered goals – the first allowed by Canon-McMillan this season.
• Kyra Watkins had a hat trick and three other players had two goals as Charleroi defeated Geibel Catholic, 14-0, in a Section 2-A match.
Adrianna Gottheld, Morgan Riley and Aislyn Lee had two goals for the Cougars (5-0-1, 6-1-1), who won their fifth consecutive match. Sydney Toth earned her fourth shutout of the season.
Geibel Catholic (1-4, 1-4) trailed 10-0 at the half.
• Seven different players scored as South Fayette defeated Obama Academy 7-0 in a Section 5-AA match.
Natalie Caraway earned her fifth shutout of the season for the Lions (5-0, 6-1).
• Chartiers-Houston scored one goal in each half to defeat Beth-Center 2-1 in a Section 2-A match.
Erin James and Alyson Ferrari had goals for the Bucs (3-3, 3-5), who led 1-0 at the half. Sydney Ervine scored for the Bulldogs (1-4, 2-4).
• Sam Zoeller had two goals as McGuffey defeated Uniontown 3-0 in a Section 4-AA match.
Shania Maxwell also scord for the Highlanders (1-3, 2-4-1), who snapped a four-match losing streak. Katie Demi earned the shutout with four saves against the Red Raiders (0-5, 1-7).
• Madeline LaVigna and Breanne Latsko both scored two goals as Peters Township defeated West Allegheny 7-0 in a Section 4-AAA match.
Caitlyn Urlich, Mia Toscano and Julia Seraly also scored for the Indians (5-0, 7-0).
