Serra beats West Greene for first win

McKEESPORT – Jason Cernigilia rushed for 106 yards and a score, Khalil Smith had two third-quarter touchdown runs, and Serra Catholic earned its first win of the season by defeating visiting West Greene 26-16 Friday night in a non-conference game.

West Greene (0-4) cut Serra’s lead to 12-8 on a one-yard TD run by Connor Main in the second quarter, but Smith found the end zone of runs of four and six yards.

Main, who passed for 112 yards, had a 14-yard TD run late in the third quarter.
