1 min read

QUEBEC CITY – Four different players scored to send Montreal to a 4-1 victory over the Penguins in a preseason game Monday night at the Colisee Pepsi – the potential home for an NHL expansion franchise.

Alexander Semin, Lars Eller, Brian Flynn and Dale Weise had goals for the Canadiens. Semin gave Montreal a 1-0 lead less than 14 minutes into the game before Beau Bennett tied it on a power play goal. The Penguins did not have a shot on goal for the first 8:44 of the first period, but finished with 23. Defensemen P.K. Subban and Andre Markov had two assists.

Eller added powerplay goal in the second period and Montreal put the game away with two in the third. The Penguins have allowed five powerplay goals in the past three games. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 24 shots.

Pittsburgh returns to action tonight for a game against Tampa Bay at Johnstown’s Cambria County War Memorial Arena, which begins at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network.
