High school baseball: Canon-McMillan slips past Mt. Lebo
MT. LEBANON – Matt Mish drove in two runs with a first-inning double and Canon-McMillan held on to beat Mt. Lebanon, 4-3, in a Section 5-AAAA win over the Blue Devils Monday.
Zack Rohaley allowed just three hits to get the complete-game win for the Big Macs (1-0, 3-2), striking out five and walking seven.
Tanner Piechnick and Rohaley also doubled for Canon-McMillan.
Mt. Lebaon is 0-1, 2-4.
Washington 15, Beth-Center 2: Jordan West had three hits and drove in three runs as Washington defeated Beth-Center, 15-2, in a five-inning Section 2-AA game.
Kurt Adkins tripled, Matt Popeck doubled and Connor Bedillion allowed four hits to get the win for the Prexies (1-0, 1-1).
Ed Zellie doubled, while Jacob Knizer took the loss for Beth-Center (0-1, 0-2).
West Mifflin 8, Ringgold 4: Corey Saus had four hits, including a pair of triples, scored four runs and drove in two more as West Mifflin defeated Ringgold, 8-4, in a Section 4-AAA game.
Josh Fodor added three hits, including a triple and drove in three runs for the Titans (1-0, 2-1), while Ryan Morose got the win.
Zack Bycynski tripled, while Connor Garry and Matt Morgan both doubled for Ringgold (0-1, 1-3). Ryan Varley took the loss.
Avella 12, Mapletown 3: Luke Lloyd homered and struck out two to earn the win as Avella defeated Mapletown 12-3 at Consol Energy Park.
Lloyd hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and added a two-run single in the second for the Eagles (1-3). Garrett Geresti also went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Garett Kiger struck out eight and had a double for the Maples (1-2), who committed five errors.
