It was merely weeks ago when Jay Krull spoke of leading a turnaround of Peters Township’s softball program and it would all begin with competing against the top competition in Section 4-AAAA.
Krull didn’t see much of that competition because his tenure would only last three games.
Krull, who was hired to replace Bob Bowers, resigned April 1 after leading the Indians to a 2-1 record, including 1-1 in section play. Peters Township athletic director Brian Geyer said Krull cited health reasons for walking away. Krull’s assistant coach, Jessica Weigold, took his place.
Attempts to reach Krull by phone were unsuccessful. He came to Peters Township after leading Seton-La Salle to a 56-10 record in the previous four seasons. Krull led the Rebels to the WPIAL Class AA semifinals and the first round of the PIAA playoffs last spring.
