The WPIAL announced its 10th annual hall of fame class Wednesday that will feature one former local athlete, a Washington County coach who won state championships and two award recipients.

Former Waynesburg and Ohio State golfer Rachel Rohanna, who is competing in her first season on the LPGA Tour, is one of seven athletes to be inducted in June at the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at the Senator John Heinz History Center.

Former Canon-McMillan wrestling coach Chris Mary will also be inducted and Dr. Ray Fioroni, a former football coach at Avella, will receive the Heritage Award. Canon-McMillan basketball and baseball player Luke Blanock, who is battling Ewings sarcoma, will receive the courage award.

Rohanna was a two-time WPIAL and PIAA champion, and a two-time Big Ten all-conference selection. Mary, who coached the Big Macs from 2000-13, won four WPIAL championships, two PIAA team championships and three PIAA team titles at the individual championships.

Fioroni, who coached at Avella from 1952-61, posted a 69-14-4 record with WPIAL titles in 1957 and 1961. He was a principal and later superintendent at Avella. Blanock was diagnosed with the rare form of bone cancer in Dec. 2013, and returned one year later to play basketball and baseball for the Big Macs after cancer went into remission. After a tumor was discovered last spring, Blanock’s cancer diagnosis was deemed terminal.

The other athletes being inducted are West Allegheny and Pitt football player Dorin Dickerson; Oakland Catholic and West Virginia basketball player Meg Bulger; Bethel Park and Pitt basketball player Jonna Huemerich Burke; Bethel Park and Pitt swimmer Jerry Kollery; Chartiers Valley and Arizona basketball player T.J. McConnell; and New Castle football player Rick Razzano.

The other coaches being inducted are North Allegheny wrestling coach Leonard “Gus” DeAugustino, Greensburg Central Catholic/Jeannette football coach Joe Mucci and Beaver football coach Pat Tarquinio. The 1992 Blackhawk boys basketball team and 2004 Central Catholic football team will also be inducted.

PIAA basketball official Bill Sinning and James Bruni are also part of the class.
