Waynesburg takes two from Thiel
Addy Knetzer scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to power Waynesburg to an 83-55 victory over Thiel in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game Wednesday.
Knetzer, a graduate of Chartiers-Houston, hit 11 of 18 shots to push the Yellow Jackets to 4-2, including 2-0 in the conference. It was Knetzer’s sixth double-double.
Haley Delaney tossed in 14 points, and Mackenna Drazich added 10 for Waynesburg, which led 25-5 after one quarter and 42-22 at halftime. Waynesburg’s largest lead was 31.
Taylor Duchon scored 12 points and Jess Vormelker and Jessica Lowell each added 10 point for Thiel (3-4, 1-1).

Waynesburg 80, Thiel 72: John Knab led four other players in double figures with 20 points as Waynesburg knocked off Thiel, 82-70, in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game Wednesday.
Knab 7 of 10 field goal attempts and all five free throws for Waynesburg, which moved to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Brennan Smith scored 14 points and Tim Kaiser and Nate Gearhart each had 11 for Waynesburg, which led 41-29 at halftime.
Kendall Paige added 10 points.
Avril Campbell led Thiel (5-2, 1-2) with 20 points, Josh Lumbus added 17 and Tyreik Burton 11.
