Boys basketball: West Greene wins second straight
Three players scored in double figures to pace West Greene to a 54-29 victory over Beth-Center in a non-section game.
Craig Weaver and Colton Rush each tossed in 17 and Zach McHenry added 10 for West Greene (2-0), which outscored Beth-Center 35-13 in the second half.
J.J. Green scored 13 points and Paul Stanley chipped in with 10 for Beth-Center (1-2).
Bentworth 97, Geibel 45: Levi Jordan scored a career-high 30 points to power Bentworth to a 97-45 victory over Geibel in a non-section game.
Steven Harner scored 26 and Will Bashioum tossed in 14 for Bentworth (1-1), which got 29 points from reserves in the fourth quarter.
Enzo Fetsko scored 18 for the Gators (1-2).
Brownsville 70, California 64: Shandon Marshall led all scorers with 26 points, including 11 from three-point field goals, to help Brownsville to a 70-64 victory over California in a non-section game.
Phil Pace scored 12 for the Falcons and Jared Gattis added 10.
Kass Taylor and Jaycee Conaway each had season highs with 23 and 16 points, respectively, for the Trojans.
Chartiers-Houston 79, South Side Beaver 62: A.J. Myers scored 37 points as Chartiers-Houston bolted past South Side Beaver, 79-62, in a non-section high school boys game.
Myers had 24 of his points in the first half as the Bucs (2-1) took a 47-24 lead after two quarters.
Cameron Hanley added 15 points for Chartiers-Houston.
Jacob McDougal had 18 points and Logan Jones added 15 for South Side Beaver (1-2).
