Women’s college basketball: Delaney’s career day sparks Waynesburg

Haley Delaney scored a career-high 25 points and Waynesburg forged an early 14-point lead en route to an 80-60 victory over Pitt-Greensburg in non-conference play Saturday at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Waynesburg (6-3) has won four of its past five games while Pitt-Greensburg (3-8) has lost three in a row.

Delaney, a senior forward, made 10 of 13 shots including three of four from three-point range. She also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.

Addy Kentzer made eight of 10 shots and scored 17 points for Waynesburg, which led 21-7 after one quarter and 44-23 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets shot 54 percent from the field.

Lyndy Baer led UPG with 14 points.
