FAIRFAX, Va. – Micah Mason scored 23 points to lead three Duquesne players in double figures Friday as the Dukes beat George Mason, 86-75.

Mason added five assists and two steals for the Dukes (13-7, 3-4 Atlantic 10) in a game played a day earlier than scheduled amid concerns about a big East Coast snowstorm hitting this weekend.

Duquesne led by as many as 17 points in the first half, but the Patriots rallied after intermission. Duquesne was clinging to a 54-50 lead with 10:25 when Mason scored a layup and Mar’Qywell Jackson’s 3-pointer helped the Dukes slowly pull away. Mason’s two free throws at 1:08 put Duquesne up, 82-69.

George Mason (7-13, 1-6) was led by 17 points from Jaire Grayer and Marquise Moore added 12 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

Derrick Colter scored 19 points and L.G. Gill added 18 for the Dukes.
