Clark’s three-pointer sends Chartiers-Houston to win

Andrew Clark made a three-pointer with 53 seconds remaining in regulation and Chartiers-Houston made two free throws to defeat Brentwood, 47-43, in a Section 3-AA game on the road.
AJ Myers had a game-high 22 points for the Bucs (3-7, 9-8), who scored just five points in the first quarter and are one game out of the final playoff spot in the section. Sean McGlaughlin had 10 points for Brentwood.
Carmichaels 61, Mapletown 21: Carmichaels used 43 first-half points and eight three-pointers to defeat Mapletown 61-21 in a non-section game on the road.
Alex Hoy had 11 points and Liam Shea 10 for the Mikes (9-9). Alix Gennette had nine points for the Maples (0-16).
Burgettstown 53, Fort Cherry 49: Burgettstown made nine free throws in the fourth quarter to clinch a 53-49 win over Fort Cherry in a Section 3-AA game at home.
The Blue Devils (3-8, 6-13) made just 10 of 24 free throws during the game, but were 9 of 19 from the line in the final eight minutes. They were led by Ryan Lounder’s 17 points and Bailey Soplinski added 10.
Devon Brown scored 18 of his game-high 26 points for Fort Cherry (1-10, 3-15), which scored 35 second-half points.
Brownsville 61, California 54: James Holcomb scored a game-high 22 points to help Brownsville outlast California, 61-54, in a non-section game in Coal Center.
Shandon Marshall added 14 points and Tryvon Brown chipped in 12 for the Falcons (15-4), who defeated the Trojans by 37 points in their first meeting last month.
Kass Taylor had 18 points for California (11-5), which scored just 10 points in the third quarter.
West Greene 46, Avella 38: Five different players scored at least eight points to help West Greene defeat Avella, 46-38, in a non-section game on the road.
Zach McHenry led the Pioneers (10-7) with 11 points, while Isaac Rizor and Nathan Brudnock by had nine. Austin Lis led the Eagles (7-12) with 13 points.
Charleroi 66, South Allegheny 17: Sam Miceli’s long-range shooting led Charleroi to its sixth consecutive victory, a 66-17 waltz over visiting South Allegheny.
Miceli made six three-point field goals and scored a game-high 26 points for the Cougars (14-3). Charleroi will host Section 4-AA leader Brownsville Friday night and win by the Cougars will move them into a tie for first place.
The Cougars led South Allegheny (1-16) 19-6 after one quarter and 45-13 at halftime. The Gladiators scored only four points in the second half.
John Arnold, who had 13 points, was the only other Charleroi player to score in double figures.
Monessen 87, Belle Vernon 69: Monessen knocked off another opponent from a larger classification, rolling past Belle Vernon .
Monessen (15-3) had four players score in double figures, led by Justice Rice, who had a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists. Dwight Moore also had a double-double, scoring 19 points and collecting 10 rebounds. Lavalle Rush played a solid all-around game with 18 points, six steals and five assists. Jaden Altomore scored 16 points.
Belle Vernon (6-11) kept it close for three quarters. Noaj Buckowski led the Leopards with 17 points. Derek Thomas had 12 points and Logan Pfringer 10.
Brownsville 68, Beth-Center 44: Alie and Maris Seto combined for 46 points to lift Brownsville to a 68-44 win over Beth-Center in a non-section game on the road.
Alie had 15 points and Maris scored a game-high 31 for the Falcons (17-2).
Kinlee Whited scored a career-high 30 points for the Bulldogs (6-8).
