Washington’s Thomas drafted by Major League Football

Bryan Thomas of Washington, a former defensive end at Bowling Green, was drafted Friday into the new Major League Football, a spring professional league that is planning to begin play in April.
The league will have eight teams but no franchises locations have been announced. It has been rumored that one team will be located in Akron, Ohio.
A Wash High graduate, Thomas was the 16th-round selection in the territorial draft of the team that will be coached by Larry Kirksey, who spent 17 seasons as an assistant coach in the NFL.
MLF games will be televised by the American Sports Network. The two-year contract calls for 40 regular-season to be televised in addition to playoff games.
Thomas was a three-year starter for Bowling Green and was a third team All-Mid-American Conference selection when he led the Falcons in sacks (8), made 15 tackles for loss and forced three fumbles.
