Third inning boosts Bandits past Rebellion

ROSEMONT, Ill. – One bad inning turned into a shutout defeat for the Rebellion against the Chicago Bandits on Thursday night in a 5-0 loss.

The Rebellion did a good job containing the Bandits for most of the game, but a five-run third inning created the decisive deficit.

Three players managed a hit apiece across seven innings for the Rebellion (10-17), including a triple by Lindsey Stephens in the second inning. The other two hits were singles, and there was just one Rebellion hit after Chicago took the lead.

Emily Weiman took the loss for the the Rebellion, giving up the runs, all earned, in 2 2/3 innings. She allowed six hits, walked one and struck out five.

Brittany Cervantes homered for Chicago (11-15), while Sara Moulton struck out four in the shutout victory.
