Haar’s home run, his sixth of the season, gave Washington a 3-1 lead in the third inning. Lake Erie pulled to within 3-2 in the bottom of the third as Connor Oliver hit a solo homer.
Hinkle (2-2) pitched 6 2/3 innings and turned the game over to relievers Kolin Stanley, Devon Davis and Zac Grotz. Lake Erie loaded the bases with one out in the eighth, but Grotz ended the threat with a strikeout and groundout. Grotz got the final five outs for his fourth save.
