ALLENTOWN – The USSSA Pride erupted for five runs in the sixth inning to rally past the Pennsylvania Rebellion, 6-3, Thursday in a neutral site game at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

The win moved the Pride’s record to 9-3 while the Rebellion fell to 7-12 and 5 ½ game behind the National Pro Fastpitch softball league leaders.

Haylie Wagner, who had a strong game two days ago in a 3-1 win over the Pride at Consol Energy Park, surrendered five runs on six hits after relieving starter Amanda Kramer in the fifth.

Hannah Rogers relieved Keilani Rickets with one out in the fifth and allowed just one hit over 1 2/3 innings to get the win. Jordan Taylor got the final two outs for the save.

Siera Romero walked to start the sixth inning for the Pride and Kirsti Merritt singled her to second. Lauren Chamberlain sacrificed them over a base and Melissa Taukeiaho drove them in and tied the game with a single. Later in the inning, Kelly Krestchman drove in a run with a single and the fifth run scored on a double steal.

The Rebellion built a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. Kristyn Sandberg began the uprising with a one-out single and stole second. Alexa Peterson walked and she and Sandberg moved up a base on a passed ball. Lindsey Stephens singled to center field to score Sandberg and send Peterson to third. Mandy Ogle singled in Peterson and Stephens to make it 3-0.

The Pride got a run back in the top of the fifth when they got three straight hits off Wagner. The final one was a double by Shelby Pendley that drove in a run.

Stephens and Stacey Porter each had two hits in the Rebellion’s eight-hit attack.

The first five batters in the Pride’s lineup went 10-for-16, scored four runs and drove in three. Kretschman went 2-for-3 to raise her league-leading average to .528.
