Things can’t overcome 6-run deficit
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The Schaumburg Boomers opened a six-run lead through four innings, then hung on for a 6-4 victory over the Washington Wild Things in a Frontier League game Friday at Boomers Stadium.
The Boomers scored three times in the first and three more in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead, but Washington scored three times in the fifth and once more in the sixth to cut it to 6-4.
Nick Ferdinand had a three-run home run in the fifth and Ricky Rodriguez hit a solo shot in the sixth for Washington.
Kenny Townes hit a three-run home run in the fourth for Schaumburg.
