Baseball: Senhert lifts Indians past Hillers

Tor Sehnert hits a bases-loaded double to drive in three runs in a four-run fifth inning to power Peters Township to a 4-2 victory over Trinity in a non-section game.

Brody Carerie drove in the other run of that inning with a single for the Indians (11-7). Eric Riotto and Sehnert each had two hits.

Trinity (8-12) scored two runs in the sixth with the help of two Peters Township errors.

South Park 11, Ringgold 3: South Park pounded out 12 hits in an 11-3 victory over Ringgold in a Section 4-AAA game.

Josh Wagner had two hit and two RBI for the Eagles (9-5, 13-7), who finished in third place. Winning pitcher Tyler Bywalski had two hits and two runs.

Dalton Holt had a double and RBI for the Rams (3-10, 4-13).

Avella 10, Burgettstown 1: Cody Dobbin tripled and drove in two runs to help Avella to a 10-1 victory over Burgettstown in a non-section game.

Garrett Geresti doubled and drove in two runs for the Eagles (6-11). Dalton Simonelli and Ryan Comfort each had a double.

California 6, Brownsville 2: Louden Conte improved to 9-1, scattering 3 hits and struck out 10 in a complete game effort in California’s 6-2 victory over Brownsville in a non-section game.

Conte was 1-for-2 and drove in two for Cal (16-2). Drake Johnson was 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, a run, and RBI. Tyler Jacobs was 1-for-1 with 2 RBI and Johnny Defranco was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Brownsville fell to 14-4.

South Fayette 9, McGuffey 6: South Fayette rallied from a 5-0 deficit by scoring the final nine runs of the game for a 9-6 victory over McGuffey in a Section 3-AAA game to clinch a playoff spot for the Lions.

Jasper Wolfe had a double and scored three runs for the Lions (6-4, 8-9). Tyler Reyes drove in two runs.

Joey Townsend went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for McGuffey (2-8, 4-11).

Chartiers-Houston 5, Washington 1: Zach Southern allowed just one run as Chartiers-Houston wrapped up sole possession of second place in Section 2-AA with a 5-1 win over Washington.

T.J. Johnson doubled for the Bucs (9-3, 14-4).

Nate Swart had three hits, while Jordan West took the loss for Washington (3-9, 4-11).

Bentworth 15, Monessen 0: Taylor Bunner threw four no-hit innings with seven strikeouts before being lifted for a reliever as Bentworth defeated Monessen, 15-0, in a five-inning non-section game.

Jake Maimone doubled for the Bearcats (10-5).

Vincenzo Rhome took the loss for Monessen (4-10), while Nick Baker doubled.

Peters Township 4, Trinity 2: Tor Senhert had a bases-clearing double in a four-run fifth inning as Peters Township edged Trinity, 4-2, in a non-section game.

Eric Riotto also doubled for Peters Township (11-7), while Reagan Lawlor go the win.

Kyle Kelley took the loss for Trinity, which finishes its season at 6-12.
