Coughlin on target as W&J routs Thiel
GREENVILLE – Pete Coughlin completed 17 of 20 passes for 319 yards and five touchdowns as Washington & Jefferson cruised to a 62-14 Presidents’ Athletic Conference football win over Thiel Saturday.
Coughlin threw three TD passes to Jesse Zubik and two to Jake Cullen, while also rushing for a score as the Presidents improved to 1-1 in conference and 3-1 overall.
W&J had 601 yards of total offense, compared to just 283 for Thiel (1-2, 2-3).
Austin Kemp rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown, while Zubik hauled in 10 passes for 199 yards for the Presidents.
Luke Merhaut had eight tackles to lead the W&J defense.
Ryan Radke threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 48 yards for Thiel but was intercepted twice.
